Resolution of the Supreme National Council of June 8, 1794 concerning the establishment of treasury notes!

An official document announcing the plan to introduce the first Polish banknotes into circulation – treasury notes from 1794. In addition to the introduction of new currency, the resolution also established the Treasury Notes Directorate, composed of Xawery Działyński, Jędrzej Kapostas, Antoni Dzieduszycki, Jerzy Poths, Antoni Lanckoroński, Filip Garlicki, and Jakób Küsel. The Directorate was responsible for preparing the new banknotes. A few days after the issuance of the resolution at issue, further details regarding the new paper money (denominations, colors, signatures) were published in Gazeta Rządowa No. 45 of August 16, 1794, initially citing the Resolution of June 8, 1794.

Document signed by Hugo Kołłątaj and Tomasz Czech.

A very rare old print, printed in the Printing House of the Department of National Instruction, known from single copies in the collections of the National Library and the Voivodeship Public Library in Kielce.

An extremely important document from the point of view of Polish paper money.

Excitement in the auction room guaranteed!
