Zygmunt II August, Obol Vilnius 1547, the second and at the same time the last year of beating Oboli, the smallest denomination of the Commonwealth.
The coin is sought after and desirable by many collectors. The rarity estimated by Kopicki at the R8 level, Kurpiewski at R6, while Tyszkiewicz valued it at as much as 80 marks.
A rare coin, and in excellent behavior, extremely rare!
Obole-coins with a value of ½ Denar-the Lithuanian Mint in Vilnius was in the years 1545-1547. This emission was related to the great operation of the purchase of the Świdnicki half -grosze (valued at 3 ½ Denar). Obole weighed the same as Lithuanian Denars, but they were beaten with silver twice worse (III ½ łuta) and contained 0.034 g of pure silver. A royal monogram under the crown was placed on the obverse of Oboli, on the reverse - Giedymin columns and date.
