... without a doubt one of the most outstanding rulers of Sweden reigning in the 18th century - he joined the throne in 1771, after his father's death - Adolf Fryderyk. On May 29, 1772, he was solemnly crowned in the Stockholm cathedral of Stokyrkan
from the beginning of his reign, he was closely related to France, the Versailles court encouraged him to take action to strengthen royal power in Sweden. On August 19, 1772, Gustaw III made a bloodless assassination of state and ended in Sweden for over 50 years (1720-1772) the "era of freedom"
during the Riksdag meeting in 1789, the king decided to make another coup. He brought 1,200 Far Rangevas to Drottningholm. He also mobilized the Stockholm bourgeois militia. On February 20, 1789, he issued an order to stop 19 of the most active opposition leaders in home detention. From the moment the February assassination was carried out and the takeover of full control over governments in the state of Gustaw III, he devoted less and less attention to internal issues, and increasingly focusing on issues related to foreign policy. At the turn of February and March 1792, Gustaw III made extensive plans in relation to France as well as Central and Eastern Europe. However, all his extensive intentions were unexpectedly crossed out.
A group of fanatical opponents of the king from the nobility prepared a conspiracy for his life. On the night of March 16-17, 1792, the former captain of the Royal Guard - Jacob Johan Anckarström fatally wounded Gustaw III at the mask ball at the Stockholm opera was the first to make the assassination of the life of the Swedish monarch to the editor of Gazeta Warszawska, priest Stefan Łukina. In issue 27 of April 4, 1792, on the title page of the letter, where national messages were usually posted, the scale printed the following report:
